Start Estimating is a web-based estimating tool for independent handymen. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and the rights available to users in Nevada and California.
The following data is collected when an account is created or the service is used:
No payment card data, Social Security numbers, or government IDs are collected or stored.
Data is not sold to third parties. Data is not used for advertising.
Stripe processes all payments. Stripe's privacy policy governs how payment data is handled. Card numbers and payment details are processed and stored exclusively by Stripe.
Supabase stores account data (email, subscription status, settings, estimates) in a secured database hosted in the United States.
Netlify hosts the application. Server logs may record IP addresses and request metadata for security and diagnostic purposes.
Account data is retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation. Users may request deletion of their account and all associated data at any time — see Section 7.

To request deletion of an account and all associated data, visit the account deletion page or contact us directly. Deletion requests will be processed within 30 days. Note that canceling a Stripe subscription does not automatically delete account data — a separate deletion request is required.
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Session tokens are stored in secure, HTTP-only cookies not accessible to browser scripts.
One session cookie is used to maintain login state. It is an HTTP-only, secure, same-site cookie. No third-party tracking cookies are used.
